Pricing:

The prices listed below are the base price for commercial use. Prices are based on character artwork, and will increase with complexity. These prices are for self publishers and small-scale book publications. If you are with a large publishing house, or expecting more than 2,500 sales, pricing may be different. Please send an inquiry.

Character Portrait: $200 USD
Half-Body Character: $325 USD
Full Body Character: $500 USD

Price includes thumbnails sketches, a final sketch, one color rough, and the final illustration. A simple background is included.

Examples of things that would increase price/complexity:
  • An animal or creature
  • A complex background.  Especially architecture.
  • A dust jacket background for a book
  • Additional characters
  • Complex armor, clothing, or jewelry

Revisions may cost extra if they are timely. Below I've broken down my process:

Thumbnail sketches are the best time to make changes to the pose. I can usually combine poses if you like something from two different thumbnails. Within reason, I can also sketch new thumbnail sketches if you don't like any of them. Almost all revisions during this time are pretty quick for me to do, and I can draw any pose that's humanly possible.

'Final sketch' or Sketch is where I add in the details to the chosen thumbnail sketch. I can still make changes during this phase, say if you'd like the hair a little curlier.

Color rough is when colors are added and those can be easily changed here.

If we get to the color rough phase, and you want to change the pose, it will cost extra. Changes made during the final require a lot more time for me and will most likely cost extra, unless it's something I can do quickly.

Additional info:

I own the rights to the images I create, and they do not infringe upon the rights of others. If I need references, I create them myself or properly purchase/license references for the project. This is already calculated in the price I quote you.

Please do not trick me into copying someone else's artwork of a character you don't own. I can create artwork inspired by an idea or artwork, but in my own style and not identical.

I can refuse a commission for any reason. If you are interested in a commission outside of what you already see in my portfolio keep reading.
  • If a commission is outside my style I may refuse it.
  • NSFW: I don't do NSFW commissions. Many of my commissions feature fantasy battles and some gore is ok. If you are unsure if your commission falls into this category you can ask!
  • Creatures: I have a solid grasp on most animal anatomy and can paint existing animals and creatures from myth. Creating original, unique creatures takes additional time, and will cost extra. If a creature is very specific or complex, I may refuse the commission. Generally, if a unique creature combines features from more than 3 animals, it may be too complex for me.
  • Scifi: While I can paint robotic and scifi elements, I lack the complete knowledge about the inner workings of mechanical objects to create something truly believable to an expert in robotics. If the idea is too complex for me, I may recommend that you seek out an artist that specializes in what you are looking for.
  • Landscapes and architecture: I can paint landscapes and architecture that is based on historical buildings. If your architecture has a specific and complex layout with completely alien architecture that needs to be a specific style, you may want to look at a concept artist instead.  The more specific something gets, and the farther from reality something gets, the harder it is for me to paint it.
  • Text and flourishes: I have a stock subscription that I use for these in most cases. I have some experience with typography for book covers and character cards, and can create simple designs. You are always welcome to take my artwork to a graphic designer to get advanced typography done.

Thanks for reading!
